Dog days of summer means puppy love at Winnipeg Humane Society

The Winnipeg Humane Society is holding a sale Friday, after getting 32 dogs coming into care in the last week alone. That's on top of the 63 dogs and 24 puppies it already had.

It's now making about half available for adoption, with the balance in foster care.

On Friday, the animal shelter was making it a bit easier for people to make the decision to adopt by offering adult dogs six months and older for $50.

Puppies under six months were going for $150.

The Humane Society said the fee includes: neutering or spaying, vaccinations, a trial of pet plan insurance, and a two-week
health check up.

It said while the fees have been reduced, the adoption process is the same.
