'Fill yer boots' with Newfoundland English app

A smartphone application that promises to make Newfoundland English clearer for confused visitors is available for 99 cents.

Whaddaya App was developed by Celsius Games of St. John's. It translates phrases such as "Buddy's snapped right off, he is" to "that man is unpredictable," or "B'ys, she's blowin' a gale out" to "It's very windy outside today."

Whaddaya App was developed by Colin Walsh and Jon Simon. They're donating a quarter of the sales to Heavenly Creatures, an no-kill animal shelter in Newfoundland.

The application's name is a play on the Newfoundland greeting "What are you at?" which roughly translates to "Hello, how are you?"
