Man arrested over P.E.I. senior's St. Lucia murder

Police on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia have arrested a man over the death of a 75-year-old P.E.I. man.

Colin Peter and his wife were walking on a beach near their resort nearly two weeks ago when he was robbed and beaten.

He died in hospital on Nov. 19.

On Sunday, police commissioner Vernon Francois said St. Lucia police have had a suspect for several days.

The 26-year-old man was arrested near where the attack took place.

Francois said they've recovered a camera stolen during the robbery.

He said he expects to charge the suspect with murder on Monday or Tuesday.

Peter was on the island researching his family tree. He owned Montague Office Supplies in P.E.I. and had three adult children.
