All school buses likely to run Monday

School bus stolen from Pleasant Grove area recovered

The English Language School Board says it plans to run all buses across P.E.I. on Monday.

A storm earlier in the week had closed schools Monday to Wednesday.

Then, for two days, most students had to find their own way to and from school because roads were considered unsafe for buses.

The board only ran buses Friday in areas where they knew the buses could reach every student on the route, says Bob Andrews, director of school effectiveness.

"If we weren't able to get to every parent, we potentially pose the risk of maybe a student thinking they're going to get picked up, and not being picked because they didn't get the information to them," said Andrews.

"So unless we were 100 per cent sure we can get every child on the route, it was just simpler for us to not run that route."

Andrews says the board will meet Sunday to finalize the bus plans for Monday.

Any changes will be posted on the ELSB website and social media accounts.
