Transformers: Age of Extinction earns 7 Razzies nominations

Michael Bay's Transformers films are well represented at this year's Golden Raspberry Awards, a ceremony dedicated to the absolute worst Hollywood had to offer in 2014, just a day before the Academy Awards is set to celebrate its best.

Transformers: Age of Extinction earned seven nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Director (Michael Bay), and Worst Supporting Actor (Kelsey Grammar).

Michael Bay's bombastic mangling of the 1980s toy and cartoon franchise has been well represented in the Razzies of years past; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was named the Worst Picture of 2009.

Other films represented include Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Legend of Hercules which features Twilight alum Kellan Lutz, and Sex Tape, starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. The latter duo are nominated in the Worst Screen Combo category, which also includes Kirk Cameron and His Ego, and Kellan Lutz "and either his abs, his pecs or his glutes."

The Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, were launched in 1980 as a humorous counterpoint to the Academy Awards.

New this year is The Redeemer, an award that acknowledges that past Razzie winners "can (and often do) go on to do far, far better things." Nominees include Ben Affleck ("From Gigli to Argo and Gone Girl") and Jennifer Aniston ("from four-time Razzie nominee to Cake").
