After 26 Years, Google Maps Reunites a Man With Family

As a child in India, Saroo Brierley fell asleep on a train aged five and woke up 1,500 kilometers from his home, in Calcutta. Utterly lost, he was picked up and eventually adopted by a Tasmanian family. Always curious as to the whereabouts of his family, Saroo started using Google Maps and Earth to jog his fading memory. Eventually, he found the train station where he first stepped aboard, and traveled home for the first time. Credit: Google Maps
