Watch: Young Girl Standing Up To Homophobic Preacher Is Everything

After the U.S. Supreme Court legalised gay marriage last week, it was depressingly inevitable that there would be protests.

But this little girl stood defiant in the face of some particuarly nasty homophobic ranting in the street during ComFest in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

The girl, called Zea, is in the first grade at school, making her six-years-old, and holds a rainbow flag aloft to show her solidarity with gay people.

But a ranty street preacher approaches her and tells her she can be redeemed by Jesus as a man next to him holds a flag saying ‘Jesus saves from Hell”.

While most children might be intimidated at the bile aimed directly at her face, Zea is having none of it and simply holds the flag even higher and stares right back at the man.

People surrounding her cheer her and the crowd high five her and fist bump her as she calmly holds her place, not flinching an inch.

Eventually she wins and the preacher starts to wander off, still ranting at the crowd - but the only thing we’ll remember is her courage.

Without saying a word, Zea said more than the preacher could in a lifetime.
