1 dead in Amherstburg crash Tuesday morning
One person died in a vehicle crash this morning in Amherstburg that was followed by a second collision, Windsor police say.
Officers are now investigating the two crashes that took place around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday morning at County Rd. 20 and County Rd. 9.
According to police, a pickup truck was turning left onto County Rd. 9 and collided with an SUV travelling westbound. The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where they later died.
Shortly after that crash, police say another eastbound truck struck the rear of the pickup truck involved in the first crash having "failed to see the collision."
No other injuries were reported, police say.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor police or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
