An 11-year-old girl at a Florida school has been arrested after she allegedly threatened a boy by pressing a box cutter to his neck and whispering, "I will kill you," according to authorities.
Officers responded Thursday to Manatee Elementary School in Naples, Fla., after school authorities notified them that the student possibly had a knife in her possession and had whispered threats at another student, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The student, who PEOPLE is not naming because of her age, allegedly walked up to the victim, a fellow 5th grader at the school, while he was eating breakfast with friends in the cafeteria, according to a police report reviewed by PEOPLE.
The student then allegedly “poked him in the back of the neck with a knife and said, ‘I will kill you,’” per the report. The victim chose not to respond, but the student followed him after he left the cafeteria and “cornered” him and “prevented him from leaving," the report alleges. She also allegedly brandished a “white object” that had a blade, according to the report.
