2 in critical condition after crash in northeast Calgary

Two people are in a Calgary hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Marlborough Park Friday night.

A cream coloured Infiniti QX SUV lost control along the 6000 block of Madigan Drive at around 9 p.m.and spun into a Jeep parked along the street, police said.

The Jeep then hit an older Ford Explorer also parked on the street.

The Infinity eventually came to a stop on the sidewalk.

Both the Jeep and the Ford were owned by a resident of the community.

The 29-year-old male driver was extricated from the Infinity and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old female passenger was also taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Police said speed appears to have been a factor in the crash and are asking anyone with information to call the Calgary Police Service Traffic section.
