2 dead, 1 arrested after reports of shots fired at Chilliwack, B.C., mobile home park
A man and woman are dead and another man in jail after shots were fired in Chilliwack Wednesday evening, police say.
Chilliwack Mounties issued a statement Thursday saying they and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team are investigating a double slaying.
Officers were called for reports of gunshots at around 7:45 p.m. to a mobile home park on Chilliwack Lake Road, a rural area on the north bank of the Chilliwack River, northeast of Cultus Lake.
Chilliwack RCMP said two people were found dead in a home and another man was arrested nearby. They say there is no risk to public safety.

Sgt. Tim Peirotti with IHIT said he believes the man arrested is in his 80s and reportedly a neighbour of the slain pair.
He says police think the deaths stems from a dispute between neighbours.
"Our investigators are out right now canvassing the area, speaking to people there," Pierotti said.
He added the arrested man remains in custody and has not yet been charged.
'Quite shocking'
Melody Spedding, who lives in the complex, said she watched police arrest a man Wednesday night at the reported time of the shots.
"He was walking towards the police cars and raised his hands up and lowered himself to the ground and crawled towards the police cars," Spedding said on the phone from her home.
She added the homicides are a shock to her and others in the complex, where she's only lived for a few months.
"I've really enjoyed the neighborhood. It's a seniors kind of area," she said.
"Everybody says hello to each other, and I sit outside a lot, so the neighbours, often times, will come and say hello to me as they walk by with their dogs.
"It's such a friendly community here and to hear that something like this would happen here was quite shocking to me."
Spedding said the neighbourhood has seen a heavy police presence since Wednesday night.
IHIT is asking anyone with information on the killing to contact them.
