2 dead following 2-vehicle collision in Mississauga

Two people have died following a collision between a truck and a car in Mississauga on Thursday, Peel police say.

According to Const. Heather Cannon, police received a call around 7:45 p.m. for a crash in the Bristol Road West and Segriff Road area.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Cannon said. No other injuries have been reported.

Police could not provide any further details on the victims, including their ages or genders.

The Peel police major collision bureau and forensic investigators attended the scene.

As of Thursday evening, Cannon said Bristol Road between Loonlake Avenue and Segriff Road would be shut down for "quite some time."

"If anyone has any information to do with this collision we ask that they contact investigators," Cannon added.

Police are urging drivers to avoid the area.
