Officials say both buildings are multi-unit residential homes.

Ron Osman, who's the landlord of the house 817 Assumption, said when he got on scene the house next door was engulfed in flames.

"Mine looks pretty good, thank God," said Osman. "It was just rebuilt three years ago from regarding another fire that happened there...maybe a little bit of smoke damage, water damage."

Osman said the fire at his building was caused by vandals.

He said all six resident are okay, and were keeping warm in the bus called in by the city.
