2 killed in semi crash on Trans-Canada

Two people are dead after a crash in the RM of Portage la Prairie.

Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 16 around 2 p.m. to find a semi-trailer hauling hogs and a vehicle had collided.

The two people riding in the vehicle, a 21-year-old Erickson woman and a 20-year-old Winnipeg woman, died in the crash. The 25-year-old driver of the semi was uninjured.

RCMP are still investigating the crash but said charges are not being contemplated.
