2 seriously injured in separate Paso Robles traffic collisions

Paso Robles police responded to two separate traffic collisions that resulted in serious injuries early Saturday morning, according to a department news release.

At around 12:30 a.m., police received a call of a man down on Buena Vista Drive and River Oaks Drive. Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined a crash occurred involving an e-bike and car. The rider of the e-bike was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.

A second collision took place hours later at approximately 7:13 a.m., when police recieved reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision at First and Oak streets. The female pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The Police Department does not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.

“The Paso Robles Police Department wants to remind everyone we all have places to be and not everyone gets there by car,” the news release said. “Bicyclists and pedestrians have the same rights to the road but face even more risk without the protections vehicles have.”

The investigations into the collisions are ongoing. The department’s traffic division asks anyone with information to call 805-237-6464.
