3 men caught on camera snooping around front-end loaders in Paradise
One day after heavy machinery was used to break into Sobeys, a business owner in Paradise says he caught three men snooping around his front-end loaders.
Jeff Pretty checked his surveillance cameras at J&N Excavating and Contracting on Tuesday and found "three unwelcomed guests."
The men are seen walking around a large Volvo front-end loader. Pretty posted the photos on Facebook, saying the trio was unable to get either of the machines started.
Meanwhile, police are searching for suspects in a pair of brazen break-ins in the early hours of Sunday and Monday. Heavy equipment was used to bust through the windows of Sobeys on Kelsey Drive, and a TD Bank branch on Elizabeth Avenue in St. John's the day before.
Witnesses say three men fled from the scene of the Sobeys theft after stealing an ATM.
Police were later seen recovering an ATM in a wooded area on Camrose Drive in Paradise, a short distance from Pretty's excavating business.
In both break-ins, the heavy equipment was abandoned nearby and left running.
