3rd person charged with 1st-degree murder of Milton woman in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have now charged a third person related to the death of a woman located in Chatham earlier this month.

According to police, a 23-year-old woman was arrested in Windsor on Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a dead body in connection with the death of 27-year-old Louise Thomson of Milton.

Police have said they started an investigation into Thomson's death on June 4. She was found dead at a William Street South address.

Police had previously arrested and charged two men, aged 44 and 59, both of Chatham, with first-degree murder and indignity to a dead body. Both were remanded to custody after court appearances on June 5 and June 19.

In a media statement, police said this is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to public safety. .

This was also the first time police identified the Milton woman.
