6 people injured in 3 separate shootings in Dallas in the past day; one arrest made

Six people were injured in three separate shootings, and there was also a fourth shooting incident in Dallas within the past day, according to the Dallas Police Department. Out of four different shootings, police only announced one arrest.

At about 10:45 p.m. Friday, police responded to a shooting call in the 200 block of Stoneport Drive. The preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect in a vehicle shot two teen victims and left the location. The victims were transported to a local hospital, and their injures are believed to be non-life threatening, according to police. An apartment was also hit during the gunfire, police say

The identities of the victims were not released. Police did not announce an arrest.

At about 4:15 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a shooting call in the 2500 block of Webb Chapel Extension. The preliminary investigation determined three victims were shot by an unknown suspect. Two victims were transported to a local hospital and the third was treated at the scene. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, police say.

The identities of the victims were not released and police did not announce an arrest.

At about 5:05 p.m. Friday,officers responded to a call for service in the 1800 block of North Hall Street. The preliminary investigation determined the suspect, 18-year-old Johnny Bates, was involved in an argument with unknown suspects and shot at them. An unknown suspect returned fire and left the location, according to police.

Bates was arrested and charged with Discharge Firearm in Certain Municipalities and Criminal Mischief. No injuries were reported. A vehicle was damaged during the gunfire.

At about 8:45 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a shooting call at South Boulevard and Holmes Street. The preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect shot the victim in the arm and left the location. A victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment, according to police.

The identity of the victim was not released and police did not announce an arrest.

All shootings remain ongoing investigations.
