60-year-old Loris woman identified by coroner as person who died in Wednesday crash

A Loris woman was identified as the person who died in a two-vehicle crash last week, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Sabrina Alston, 60, died Wednesday from traumatic injuries sustained in the wreck on Highway 19 and Highway 45, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said Sunday.

The driver of a 2019 Dodge Journey was traveling north on Highway 19 and disregarded a stop sign, striking a 2016 Kia Forte, which ran into a ditch, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler.

Alston was driving the Kia. The passenger was taken to Grand Strand Hospital, Butler added.

The driver of the Journey was also transported to the hospital.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and reported in a Facebook post that the two-vehicle crash, which blocked lanes of traffic, required extrication operations.
