The 7 Best New Movies on Netflix in February 2024
As Hollywood continues to scale up its content production apparatus, annual gaps on our film and TV calendars become fewer and further between. It often feels like the holiday movie season extends into January, with the first month of the year serving as the de facto launchpad for award contenders that received brief qualifying runs at the end of December. And early release dates for blockbusters like the upcoming “Dune: Part Two” mean that the summer movie season essentially kicks off in March.
Still, all the excitement around the corner does not change the fact that February remains a lackluster month for new releases. But that shouldn’t be too much of an issue for anyone with a Netflix subscription, as the streaming service is adding a robust lineup of films to its library. The streaming service picks up an influx of A24 titles this month, including reigning Best Picture winner “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and recent hits like “X,” “Waves,” and “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.” There are also plenty of other modern studio hits, ranging from seasonally appropriate sports dramas to long-awaited male stripper sequels.
