Adele won't be saying 'hello' to Super Bowl: 'That show is not about music'

British singer Adele shut down rumours Saturday that she could be next year's performer for the Super Bowl Halftime show.

"I'm not doing the Super Bowl," she told the audience at her sixth of eight sold-out concerts in Los Angeles yesterday. "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really — I don't dance or anything like that."

The 28-year-old songstress, who's currently on a world tour following the release of her latest album 25, was rumoured a week ago in a British tabloid to be performing at the 2017 sporting event.

Adele said she was approached but turned down the offer.

"They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no."

The British band Coldplay headlined the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime show and performed alongside Beyoncé and Bruno Mars to mixed reviews. Katy Perry, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Madonna are also among the musicians who have performed in recent years during the high profile event.
