Adrienne Bailon-Houghton is happy to have made amends with Naturi Naughton.

On Saturday, April 20, Bailon-Houghton, 40, spoke exclusively to PEOPLE at the LA VOÛTE Tour — a pop-up shopping experience for her new clothing line.

At the event, the Daytime Emmy Award winner opened up about overcoming past issues with her former 3LW member, and how the women are now in a positive place with one another.

“We're moms together. It's crazy how we look at each other and we're like, ‘We're grown women now,’” Bailon-Houghton tells PEOPLE.

(She is mom to son Ever James, 20 months, while Naughton has two children: daughter Zuri, 6½, and son Tru Xavier, 10 months.)

She and Naughton, 39, were just teens when they formed the girl group 3LW along with Kiely Williams in 1999. Their moniker was a shortened version of “3 Little Women.”

Though they quickly rose to fame with hits like "No More" and "Playas Gon' Play," Naughton was replaced by Jessica Benson after leaving the group in 2002 due to ongoing friction between the ladies and management.

“It's crazy to reminisce about the good times, but it's also so important to remember the bad times and make them right. Does that make sense? And on my part, that means so much to me,” Bailon-Houghton says.

“And on top of that, just to be able to now make new memories together as moms has been really, really special.”

In September 2020, Naughton spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about new music she had been working on and how it would explore "some of the feelings I had after being ousted" from the girl group.

"It was a tumultuous breakup. However, I do look back and remember, 'Oh, I was on the TRL tour, opening up for Destiny's Child,'" Naughton said at the time.

During a 2002 conversation with MTV, she talked about an alleged food fight with her group members that left her feeling "physically abused" before her exit.

"I think a lot of people that know me now, who even watch Power, don't realize how long my journey has been. This has been since I was 15 and I've been in the business for 20 years. I look back at that experience of being in a girl group, although it had some learning experiences that were growing pains, it just showed me what it takes to make it in this industry," she explained to PEOPLE.

However, Saturday’s LA VOÛTE event was not Bailon-Houghton’s first time acknowledging prior faults.

In 2017, Naughton appeared as a guest on The Real where the television host publicly apologized for her behavior.

"I genuinely from the bottom of my heart never meant any harm towards you. I think you're talented and beautiful,” Bailon-Houghton said, in part, during the segment.
