'The worst of humanity': Simu Liu receives mixed reaction after blasting, praising Air Canada staff
The Canadian actor didn't reveal what his gripe was with the airline, but felt his statements left some confused
Canadian movie star Simu Liu took to his social media this week to vent about the service he experienced with Air Canada in Toronto.
In a story posted to his Instagram account on Thursday, Simu addressed the airline’s staff, specifically at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
“@aircanada staff at pearson are a combination of the best and worst of humanity. the best go above and beyond for people who are trying to brave horrendous airport lines to try and get to their destination. the worst are completely apathetic and use the crowds as punching bags,” he wrote. “No complaints, nothing to take up. i just hope you guys know the good apples from the bad, because the good employees are truly great and the bad ones…. well, they’re just some of the most unpleasant and miserable unprofessional human beings on the face of the earth.”
The story has since expired. It’s unclear what the exact circumstances are surrounding the ordeal between the actor and the airline’s representative as Air Canada has yet to respond. Yahoo News Canada has reached out to Air Canada for comment.
On Twitter, a few people had a hard time feeling bad for the actor.
@SimuLiu Did you actually say that Air Canada employees are “a combination of the best and the worst of humanity” The worst? Of all humanity? 🫤You find good and bad service ANYWHERE. But making hyperbolic statements like that isn’t helpful. Context matters.
