A murder probe was launched following a post-mortem examination, with police reporting officers were following a "positive line of inquiry".

In an update on Tuesday morning, Police Scotland confirmed a 29-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with Mr Lawson's death.

A force spokesperson added: "A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

Later in the day, suspect Jordan Honeyman appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in connection with the case.
