Alberta RCMP uniforms are among several items that were stolen during a residential break-in in the Calgary's northwest community of Rockland Park on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Calgary police believe two unknown individuals broke into a residence belonging to an Alberta RCMP member sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 12 p.m., on the 0 to 100 block of Rowley Terrace N.W., according to a statement released on Wednesday afternoon.

The thieves took several pieces of jewelry, handbags, wallets, and multiple RCMP uniforms and boots, the total value of which is over $5,000.

Police added that one of the suspects was seen wearing a red reflective work jacket, and that the two may have been driving a U-Haul truck.

"Citizens are reminded that if they have a concern about an individual identifying themselves as a police officer, they can request to see the individual's police badge and photo identification card," read the statement.

Some of the pieces of the stolen uniforms have been recovered, but other items remain outstanding.
