Hitz Home Fundraiser

The Hitz Home Auxiliary will hold a fundraiser 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Alhambra Township Center, 101 E. Main St., Alhambra.

The event take place in the parking lot where they will offer:

  • $5 Pork burgers or brats;

  • $2 Hot dogs;

  • $1 for chips, water or sweet treats.

Proceeds will be used to help the residents.

4-H Ice Cream Social

The Morning Glories and Cloverbuds 4-H leaders and current members invite all young people between the ages of 5-18 and their parents to attend an ice cream social on Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alhambra Township Park.

Come hear about the activities club members enjoy and how much they learn from each other’s activities.

Are you interested in computers, flowers,sewing, painting, photography, calligraphy, animals and many more programs that are available through 4-H? Join the fun with no obligation to join. Just see everything available to those who would enjoy a hobby and make new friends.

Morning Glories are for ages 8-18, and Cloverbuds are ages 5-7. Both groups meet at the same time.

Pre-K Screening

Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to get screened. This screening will help to determine if a child would benefit from early childhood classes.

Parents that have their children screen are under no obligation to sign the child up for school. If interested in having a child screened, call the Highland Primary office to schedule an appointment.

Scheduling times and dates are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 22

  • 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 18

Alhambra Rehab and Healthcare

A group of residents from Alhambra Rehab braved the summer heat to attend this year’s homecoming. Smiles from all as they enjoyed the parade, food, drink and visiting with everyone.

Village News

Residents are asked to report street lights that are out to the village hall at 618-488-3505.

Leave a message on the answering machine if the call is not during office hours. Please give the location of the light.

Grass and Property Ordinance

It is an ordinance within the village of Alhambra that all premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or growth in excess of ten (10) inches. All noxious weeds are prohibited.

Property must be free from any accumulation of rubbish or garbage. Disposal shall be done in a clean and sanitary manner by placing the rubbish in approved containers.

Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes need five (5) days to hatch in still water.

Help eliminate breeding sites by contacting the village at 618-488-3505 for larvicide or more information.
