Free Flu Shots Available Soon

Alhambra Township will be offering free flu shots to the residents of Alhambra and Alhambra Township.

The shots will be given at the Township Fireman’s Hall 3-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9.

High-dose vaccines will be provided to seniors. Children ages 6 months and older are also eligible.

For those with difficulties walking, a drive up is available.

Call Gail Ohren at 618-830-1384 to set up a time for someone to come out to your vehicle and administer your shot.

Salem Church Rally Day

Salem Church will host its annual Rally Day on the grounds of the church Sunday, Sept. 10, following the 10 a.m. worship service.

This year, enjoy the amazing Fiesta Days of Salem.

Tacos (hard and soft shells), nacho cheese, beans, beef and chicken fixings will be provided.

Bring a side dish to enjoy with others such as a type of salad or dessert.

A fun day is planned, and everyone is encouraged to bring a friend.

4-H Ice Cream Social

The Morning Glories and Cloverbuds 4-H leaders and current members invite all young people ages 5-18 and their parents to attend an ice cream social Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alhambra Township Park.

Come hear of all the activities club members enjoy and how much they learn from each other’s activities.

Are you interested in computers, flowers, photography, calligraphy, animals and many other programs available through 4-H? Come join the fun with no obligation to join.

See everything available to those who would enjoy a hobby and make new friends.

Morning Glories are for ages 8-18 and Cloverbuds are ages 5-7. Both groups meet at the same time.

Commemorative 175th T-Shirts

The 175th Jubilee Committee is now selling commemorative T-shirts with the 175th logo on them.

Shirts come in blue or green and range in sizes small to XL for $15 or 2XL $16. Other sizes may be ordered if needed.

Pre-K Screening

Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to get screened. This screening will help to determine if a child would benefit from early childhood classes.

Parents that have their children screened are under no obligation to sign the child up for school.

If interested in having a child screened, call the Highland Primary office to schedule an appointment.

Scheduling times and dates are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 22

  • 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 18
