American Idol’s Disney Night Setlist Revealed: Here’s What Everyone Is Singing (Exclusive)

It’s the most magical time of the year. American Idol’s annual Disney Night arrives this Sunday (ABC, 8/7c), and TVLine has your exclusive first look at the setlist for the long-awaited event.

It’s another eclectic mix of familiar tunes, some that were written for classic Disney movies, and others that were merely featured in Disney-owned films during pivotal moments.

The movies represented by this year’s setlist include: Cars, Cars 2, D3: The Might Ducks, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Hannah Montana: The Movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Little Mermaid, Onward, The Princess and the Frog, and Toy Story 4. (Let’s not forget that “Disney” is a much larger umbrella than it was when Idol first introduced this annual theme night many years ago.)

For those who haven’t been keeping up with American Idol this season (and how dare you?), we’ve got five singers left in the competition: Abi Carter, Emmy Russell, Jack Blocker, Triston Harper and Will Moseley. And by the end of Sunday’s two-hour broadcast, we’ll know which three are headed to the grand finale on May 19.

Read on for a full breakdown of who’s singing what on Disney Night this Sunday, then drop a comment with your thoughts. Which song are you most looking forward to hearing? And which finalist has your vote?

Abi Carter will get in touch with her inner Little Mermaid, performing Ariel’s iconic ballad from the 1989 classic.

Singer-songwriter Emmy Russell will take on this Brandi Carlile tune featured in one of Disney’s more recent releases (2020’s Onward).

Jack Blocker will then put his spin on this Brad Paisley song, which is heard in 2011’s Cars 2.

‘Almost There’ (The Princess and the Frog)

Triston Harper is getting jazzy with a performance of “Almost There” from 2009’s The Princess and the Frog.

‘The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy’ (Toy Story 4)

Simultaneously nothing we would ever expect, yet also a perfect marriage of hats, Will Moseley will be performing a song from Toy Story 4. (Then again, when you remember that it’s a Chris Stapleton original, the choice makes a lot more sense.)

‘The Chain’ (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2)

Abi’s voice is made for this Fleetwood Mac jam, which you’ll find on the soundtrack for 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

‘The Climb’ (Hannah Montana: The Movie)

Emmy’s second song, a Miley Cyrus original from 2009’s Hannah Montana: The Movie, perfectly captures the spirit of this competition.

‘Space Oddity’ (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny)

We’d never expect Jack to pass up the chance to perform a David Bowie song, like this one, which was featured in Indiana Jones’ 2023 return to the big screen.

Come on, did you really expect a Disney Night to go by without someone performing this Rascal Flatts earworm?

Will’s second Disney Night pick is this Steppenwolf song, featured in the third installment of this beloved hockey movie trilogy.
