Ant and Dec aired a show first during the final series of Saturday Night Takeaway, with the live audience getting a huge surprise.
The ITV show returned tonight (February 24) for its 20th series, and the hosting pair decided to commemorate the occasion by changing the winners for ‘Happiest Minute of the Week’.
The segment usually sees selected audience members and home viewers awarded with prizes, but the duo announced a surprise as they revealed that all 411 members of the live studio audience had been handpicked.

To continue with the celebration, they announced that everybody in the room had been granted a ticket for the Takeaway Getaway, with the pair proclaiming that the show wouldn’t be the same without their dedicated fanbase.
The move drew wide applause from fans on social media, with many likening the gesture to segments from The Oprah Winfrey Show as one wrote on X/Twitter: “Omg Ant and Dec just Oprah'd the shit out of that. you get a holiday. you get a holiday. you get a holiday.”
“Lucky b*strds! Top work, ITV #SaturdayNightTakeaway” added another fan, whilst one wrote: “YOU GET A TAKEAWAY GETAWAY! YOU GET A TAKEAWAY GETAWAY! YOU GET A TAKEAWAY GETAWAY! #SaturdayNightTakeaway”

Elsewhere in the episode, the ‘Undercover’ segment took a trip down memory lane as they pranked Simon Cowell, with The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent judge starring in the section after his previous stint 20 years ago.
Simon might have thought he got off lightly with the first sketch, which saw him approached by fake police officers as he rode his bike, but Ant and Dec took it up a notch as they pranked the judge during an appearance on America’s Got Talent.
