Ariana Madix Can't Wait to Sell House She Shares with Ex Tom Sandoval and 'Fully Just Move On' (Exclusive)
During the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ season 11 premiere on Wednesday, Madix shared an update with PEOPLE on the L.A. home that she has co-owned with her ex since 2019
Ariana Madix is sharing an update on her current living situation with ex Tom Sandoval.
Ahead of the season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules on Wednesday, Madix, 38, revealed to PEOPLE that she currently owns the L.A. home she and Sandoval, 40, purchased together in 2019.
“I own the house,” she said. “I felt like it was the last thing, and I'm just really motivated to be able to get my investment that I made into the house out so that I can make another investment and be able to fully just move on from being tied to that."
She added that because she's "a little bit of a control freak," she wanted to be in charge of the situation with the home she shared with her ex. Now, she's ready to search for a new abode and leave all the drama behind her.
"I want things a certain way when I think it's the right time," Madix continued. "So I'm ready. I want to own my own home."
The exes had been in a relationship for nine years when Madix learned Sandoval was cheating on her with their costar Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.
Though Madix and Sandoval officially called it quits in March 2023, the pair had been at odds about what would happen to the Los Angeles home that they bought together in 2019 and renovated in 2021.
A representative for Sandoval revealed to PEOPLE shortly after the split that the exes were still living together in the home and that the situation was complicated.
"They own the house together, and what happens next with the property will take time to sort out," the rep said. "This isn't something that's going to be decided in a weekend."

Ten months later, Madix sued Sandoval over their L.A. abode as the two allegedly disagreed on the sale of their home, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
According to the documents, Madix wanted an "equitable allocation of the proceeds of sale," including the "payment of debt secured by same and the costs of partition," as well as the inclusion of attorneys' fees, and title expenses.
The reality star ultimately requested that they sell the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home as a "partition by sale," so the proceeds can be evenly split between her and Sandoval. She was hoping to avoid a "division in kind" in which they both would retain ownership of the property and thus one party could potentially sell their portion to a third party, according to the documents.
During Tuesday’s episode of Leviss’ podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, the Vanderpump Rules alum, 29, shared her perspective on why Madix and Sandoval were still living together for such an extensive period after their breakup and whether or not they’re doing it for the show.
“Tom doesn’t want to lose that house and I think he’s being stubborn by not letting Ariana buy him out,” she explains. “I think that’s also a big reason why he didn’t break up with her sooner — because he wanted that house.”

She adds that the space is sentimental for the pair because “they grew up together” and “came from this small apartment that was run down.”
“They worked hard to make money and invest it into this big house and I feel like there’s areas of comfort there. Now that the relationship is broken up, I believe that Tom is having a really hard time letting go of that house,” she concludes.
