Arviat man charged with multiple offences following alleged violent incident

Bradley Issakiark, 26, of Arviat has been charged with six offences following an incident on May 3.

According to a release, Arviat RCMP responded to complaint made at approximately 8:30 p.m. that evening that took them to 9th Avenue. After investigating, police were informed that a male suspect had broken into a residence and assaulted two children as well as a female bystander who had come in aid of the children.

Issakiark was then arrested without incident. The three victims received medical treatment; the two youths were later discharged, but the adult female was transported via medevac to Winnipeg for further treatment. There’s no immediate word on her condition.

Issakiark has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of break and enter and one count of possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence.

The accused remains in custody and will appear in court next on May 21.
