Ayesha Curry Reveals the First Meal She Made for Husband Steph Curry
Ayesha, who is expecting baby no. 4, also explained the "nerve wracking" experience of cooking for Barack Obama
Before she was a cookbook author and restaurant owner, Ayesha Curry was cooking up creative meals for her husband, Steph Curry.
The Sweet July founder, 34, who is pregnant with their fourth child, told Andy Cohen and Awkwafina on Watch What Happens Live on Monday about the first meal she ever made for Steph, 35. Ayesha and Steph met as teens at their church youth group in Charlotte, N.C. and married in 2011.
She explained that way back when, Steph’s father “randomly” gave her a Southern seasoning and that inspired her. “I made some chicken with that and some rice and asparagus,” said the star of Netflix’s upcoming movie Irish Wish.
On WWHL, Ayesha also spoke about another first-time cooking experience she had a few years later. She recalled the time Barack Obama ate at her San Francisco restaurant, International Smoke, in 2019 for President's Day.
“Everything was nerve wracking,” she laughed.
But the most anxiety-producing moment of the dinner was a party trick almost gone wrong.
“I sabered a bottle of champagne and I for some reason blacked out and forgot that I was standing right behind his head,” Ayesha explained to the shocked host and her fellow guest. “So Secret Service was kind of inching in and I didn't realize until after.”

She impressed Cohen and Awkwafina even more by revealing that she can saber a bottle of champagne with an iPhone.
On March 1, Ayesha and Steph announced that they were expecting another baby in the cover story of Ayesha's Sweet July Magazine.
“For so many years, Stephen and I thought we were done,” she wrote in a letter published on the Sweet July site. “We said, ‘Three, that’s it, we’re not doing this again.’ And then, last year, we looked at each other and agreed we wanted to do this again.”
The pair are already parents to daughters Riley, 11, and Ryan, 8, as well as son Canon, 5.
