Badly injured driver rescued with the Jaws of Life after rollover crash on Highway 101

A badly injured driver had to be extracted with the Jaws of Life on Friday afternoon after a rollover crash on Highway 101 in Paso Robles.

The driver suffered a major injury in the crash, which backed up traffic leading into Paso Robles, according to the California Highway Patrol and emergency radio traffic.

The driver was traveling northbound near the Highway 46 West exit when the vehicle rolled off the highway and hit three parked cars.

The vehicle landed on Frontage Road on its wheels, according the CHP traffic log.

After being extracted from the vehcile, the driver was transported by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, according to radio traffic.

Traffic on the highway backed up to the North Main Street exit in Templeton.
