Baltimore County purchases 12-acre plot at Security Square Mall

Baltimore County continues to increase their presence at Woodlawn's Security Square Mall. County officials announced Wednesday they plan on purchasing a 12-acre plot of land, which when finalized, will make them the owner of more than one third of the overall property. Over the years, the community has pushed for the site to be remodeled. County Executive Johnny Olszewksi said this purchase will help the county do just that. “This announcement only further reiterates our commitment to the site and the communities who need and deserve the vibrant regional anchor once again,” Olszewksi said. This purchase is subject to approval from the County Council and a final community design meeting for the mall on May 31.
