This band’s show got canceled last year. It’s returning, Boise, with another rock ‘titan’

The Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater has become the Treasure Valley’s preferred outdoor destination for heavy metal concerts. Pictured: Korn performing in 2017.

When Staind and Godsmack canceled their concert last summer at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater — because of “routing issues” — fans were disappointed.

Organizers, too. “Bummer for sure,” Creston Thornton, president of promoter Live Nation’s mountain region, said at the time. Ticket sales had gone well.

But good news, Boise: Staind is on its way again — with Breaking Benjamin this time around.

The groups — “two titans of the early 2000s rock scene,” as a media release brags — will co-headline a concert Sunday, Oct. 6, at the same outdoor venue. They’ll be joined by opening acts Daughtry and Lakeview.

Tickets become available to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday through fordidahocenter.com for $39.50 (lawn) to $149.50 (front pit).

This is the 19th Live Nation concert announced this summer at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater, Thornton said.

Formed in 1995, Staind is known for hits such as “It’s Been Awhile,” “Outside” and “So Far Away.” The group has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Breaking Benjamin has been unleashing heavy rock since 1999. Fan favorites include songs such as “The Diary of Jane,” “Breath” and “Until the End.”
