‘Barbie’: Margot Robbie On The Line Ryan Gosling Improvised That Still Makes Her Laugh

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling starred in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and seemingly had a lot of fun making the film.

In a new interview, Robbie revealed one line in the script that Gosling improvised while filming that still makes her chuckle now.

“It’s tricky because watching it on screen is one thing, but being there for the scene was a different thing,” Robbie told Entertainment Tonight about her favorite scene in the Gerwig-directed film.

She continued, “The one that I always — It was one line that Ryan improvised on the day. When he yells out ‘sublime.’ I wasn’t prepared for that, that wasn’t in the script and to this day, that makes me laugh.”

Gosling yells out “sublime” in the Barbie movie when Ken thinks Barbie would accept his offer to become his “long-term, long-distance, low commitment casual girlfriend.”

Barbie was a box office success which has ultimately led people to question if there will be a sequel film. Although nothing has been confirmed or denied as of yet, Robbie seemingly shut the door on a follow-up movie for now.

“I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something,” Robbie told the Associated Press in an interview. “Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”

In the same interview, Robbie noted the win that Barbie was for original films saying, “It doesn’t have to be a sequel or a prequel or a remake. It can be totally original. It can still be big given the big budget to do that. And just because there’s a female lead doesn’t mean it’s not going to hit all four quadrants which is, you know, I think a misconception that a lot of people still have.”
