Barrett Gallant ID'd as Springfield motorcycle crash victim

The victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in the Springfield area on Monday has been identified as Barrett Gallant.

Gallant, 28, of the Summerside area, died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car at the intersection of Route 2 and Grahams Road.

Police say the motorcycle was travelling west on Route 2 and the car was turning left onto Route 2 from Grahams Road at about 8 a.m.

Gallant's friends have started an online GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his family.

To date, $13,000 has been raised.

RCMP say the investigation into the accident is continuing.
