The Daily Mail, for whom Mosley works as a columnist, is among the UK publications reporting the doctor’s disappearance after he embarked on a hike on Wednesday.

On the Friends of Symi Facebook group, contributor Adriana Shum wrote that Mosley set off for a walk from St Nicholas Beach at 1.30PM local time yesterday.

In an update on Thursday, Shum said a search and rescue team had been dispatched from Athens equipped with drones and other tools.
