A main Breaking Bad character will return in the final season of Better Call Saul.

The spin-off show’s co-creator Peter Gould has announced that there will be three familiar characters appearing in the last batch of episodes before events catch up to Breaking Bad.

In the sixth and final season, which is scheduled to begin in 2021, fans will be reintroduced to DEA officer Hank Schrader (Dean Norris), Walter White’s brother-in-law, as well as his partner Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezeda).

Norris will appear in just two episodes while Quezeda will guest star during the season.

Robert Forster, who died in October 2019, will also make an appearance as Ed the Disappearer – a posthumous cameo he filmed while shooting his surprise appearance in sequel film, El Camino.

Better Call Saul tracks Bob Odenkirk’s transformation from Jimmy McGill to Breaking Bad‘s Saul Goodman.

There is currently no word on whether Hank’s wife Marie (Betsy Brandt) will appear in the final season.

Better Call Saul‘s penultimate season will be broadcast weekly on Netflix in the UK from 24 February
