The 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) are here!

On Sunday, the music awards show, streaming live on BBMAs.watch, will take place at different locations across the globe and add a unique feel to each artist.

Throughout the night, viewers will see performances by stars like Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Karol G, Morgan Wallen, Stray Kids, Bebe Rexha and David Guetta, Tate McRae and NewJeans.

Leading this year's nominations, which are based off chart data including song sales, radio airplay, streaming and social engagement, is Taylor Swift, who's up for 20 categories.

A wide variety of performers will hit the stage

This year's performances will not disappoint.

Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Karol G, Morgan Wallen, Stray Kids, Bebe Rexha and David Guetta, Tate McRae and NewJeans are all set to take the stage.

All performances will be pre-recorded.

Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen and SZA lead as finalists

This year, Swift leads as a nominee in 20 different categories.

The Midnights singer is followed by Wallen and SZA, who are tied for the second-most nods with 17 each.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd appears in 16 categories, Drake is a finalist in 14 categories, and Zach Bryan is up for 13 awards.

Artists up for their first-ever Billboard Music Awards at the upcoming ceremony include Bailey Zimmerman, Coi Leray, Fifty Fifty, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Frontera, Jelly Roll, Ice Spice, Metro Boomin, NewJeans, Peso Pluma and Oliver Anthony Music.

This year's show introduces nine new categories: top Hot 100 songwriter, top Hot 100 producer, top rock duo/group, top global K-pop artist, top K-pop tour, top K-pop albukarol m, top global K-pop song, top Afrobeats artist and top Afrobeats song.

Who is hosting?

With the show's new format, the BBMAs are straying away from traditional award show hosts.

"Since this is such a non-traditional format, we are moving away from traditional host and presenter patterns," Alexi Mazareas, Dick Clark Production’s VP, programming & development told Billboard. "The goal is to really lean in to each unique performance and winner celebration that connects the artists and their biggest fans."

Loyal fans are attending the show

This year, Billboard teamed up with Spotify to find the most loyal fans who have helped their favorite artists climb Billboard charts by streaming their music on repeat.

Those fans will be receiving a golden ticket that allows them to attend the pre-recorded performance of their favorite artist that will stream during the awards ceremony.

The Billboard Music Awards will air on BBMAs.watch and Billboard social channels on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
