BLACKPINK's Jennie Makes Runway Debut Closing Jacquemus's ‘La Casa’ Cruise Show — See Photos

BLACKPINK's Jennie Kim is officially a runway model after making her catwalk debut at a major fashion show.

On June 10, 2024, Jennie Kim made her official debut as a runway model walking Jacquemus's “La Casa” cruise show, which celebrated 15 years of the brand. The show took place on the roof patio of Casa Malaparte, a landmark house built on top of a breathtaking cliff with a sea view on the Italian island of Capri. Multiple celebrities and friends of the house attended the show, including Dua Lipa, Peggy Gou, Arón Piper, Manu Ríos, and many more.

Not only did Jennie walk during the show, she was actually in charge of closing it, wearing the final look from the collection: a backless, sleeveless midi dress in black crepe with swirly black and white mules. Jennie's look was accessorized by the brand's new Le Rond Carré bag in a light turquoise color with golden hardware and a low chignon adorned with a silver hair clip.

After modeling the look during the show, Jennie greeted designer Simon Porte Jacquemus with a hug on the stairs leading up to the main runway portion before he took his customary final bow in front of guests.

Jennie's appearance at Jacquemus's “La Casa” cruise show was not confirmed prior to the event, but many people began to speculate after candid pictures of the star on location in Capri started circulating online. That said, Jennie is a good friend of the maison and has attended other Jacquemus shows in the past, so initial theories suggested she could have traveled to the island as a guest.

Rumors about her involvement in the show being more than just a guest role began to intensify on the evening of June 9, after she was spotted with Jacquemus himself doing what appeared to be a show rehearsal. The rumors seemed to be confirmed after Jacquemus unveiled the promotional images for the show featuring Jennie posing at Casa Malaparte as the face of the brand rocking the same hairdo she wore during the actual show, black sunglasses, and a red towel as a dress.

This might be Jennie's first major runway show as a model, but it's not her first venture as a model. The star has previously starred in major campaigns for the likes of adidas, Gentle Monster, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and even Jacquemus, among many more.

With Jacquemus's “La Casa” cruise show, Jennie becomes the second member of BLACKPINK to walk in a major international fashion show just after Lisa's turn with Celine in 2021. It's model Jennie's world, and we are just living in it.
