They Dated?!: Drew Barrymore and Corey Feldman

On Tuesday, Drew Barrymore gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Frankie.

This is Barrymore’s second child with husband Will Kopelman. Barrymore met art consultant (and son of former Chanel CEO Arie Kopelman) in 2011, and the pair tied the knot in 2012.

Before meeting Kopelman, Barrymore was notoriously linked to actor Justin Long, The Strokes’ drummer Fabrizio Moretti and of course, comedian Tom Green, who she was briefly married to from 2001-2002.

But a decade before Barrymore met Green in 1999, she had a mostly-forgotten relationship with one of the biggest icons of the’80s: Corey Feldman.

In 1989, 14-year-old Barrymore briefly dated 18-year-old Feldman after they appeared together on an episode of “CBS Schoolbreak Special.”

Although they only dated for a few months, they made several memorable appearances – and Feldman even showed up to that year’s Oscars with Barrymore on his arm. In Feldman’s memoir “Coreyography” he said that at the time, he was heavily into drugs and she was trying to stay sober after a suicide attempt and several stints in rehab.

In Feldman’s memoir “Coreyography”, he revealed that his first “date” with Barrymore was actually four years before that – when she was 10 and he was 14. The two child actors were set up by Barrymore’s mother, who was also her manager at the time, because she had a “huge crush on him.”

The romance between Barrymore and Feldman was short-lived – they broke up the same year, and Feldman was already married to his future wife Vanessa Marcil by August.
