Amazing CGI video: Who would win a Star Wars vs. Star Trek battle?

A long, long time ago, in an alternate reality, the Cold War involved space battles between the characters from Star Trek and Star Wars.

Star Trek and Star Wars purists, prepare to become enraged. IGN Entertainment has created a video in which Star Trek's USS Enterprise takes on the dreaded Death Star.

In the film preceding this epic encounter, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the Enterprise crew returns to save Earth by retrieving the whales, who can communicate with the dangerous alien probe that's threatening the planet.

But now they need more whales and they must return to San Francisco, according to the description on this short video. Meanwhile, Ronald Reagan's proposed Strategic Defense Initiative from the 1980s, popularly dubbed Star Wars, has led to the creation of a Death Star.

No Death Star petitions required in this alternate universe.

"Star Wars is our military," the video description says. Watch out for those Stormtroopers.

The underlying question, which has already spawned a debate on the YouTube video, is who would win in a battle between the Death Star and the Enterprise?

One thing is certain: In this universe, Barack Obama's Jedi Mind Meld mix-up wouldn't have earned him so much flack.
