Bag of meth stuck to Oshawa man’s back leads to arrest

Kingston police have handed out multiple drug charges after arresting a man who unknowingly had a bag of meth stuck to his sweaty back.

Police recently responded to reports of a woman in distress at a Kingston, Ont., hotel on the morning of April 23rd, reports Durham Region.

When authorities arrived at the hotel room, they spoke to the 36-year-old male suspect from Oshawa who agreed to allow the cops entry to check on the safety of the woman. That’s when, according to a police press release, officers noticed a small clear plastic bag stuck to the man’s back sweat when he turned around.

The bag was filled with meth, and prompted officers to immediately arrest the accused for possession of a controlled substance.

Upon closer inspection of the hotel room, officers found two more additional bags of crystal meth in plain sight, a knife and a wallet filled with $5000 dollars cash.

As they began collecting the suspect’s belongings, they also found a travel bag containing marijuana and a modified pop can containing even more crystal meth.

To make matters even more worse for accused, during processing the suspect was found with a non-prescribed fentanyl pain killer patch stuck to the back of his health card as well.

When it was all said and done, the drugs police seized added up to $3,500 worth of meth, $50 worth of weed and the fentanyl patch that can range anywhere from $200 to $500 in street value.

Besides his drug charges, the sweaty suspect is also facing two counts of uttering threats after his girlfriend revealed to officers he had earlier threatened to kill her and burn down her mother’s house.

The suspect is said to be in custody at a local detention centre on Tuesday.
