British supermarket chain hiring a professional Christmas lights detangler

Looking to make some extra cash this upcoming holiday season? Well, if you have a good attitude, nimble fingers, and an eye for unraveling, one British supermarket chain may have the job for you.

A branch of Tesco in Wrexham, Wales is hiring a ‘Christmas lights detangler’ this season, and all you have to do is untangle three meters of those pesky lights in under three minutes – with a smile on your face of course.

“This new position will offer you the chance to show that every little helps by running the unique in-store service with a friendly, flexible approach and making a genuine difference to the little things that matter to our customers this Christmas,“ the job description posted to the Tesco careers site explains.

A Tesco representative told Mashable that the service will be offered free of charge and a typical day for the employee will be detangling 60 sets of lights.

Not only does the successful applicant need to be patient and persistent, he or she must also maintain enthusiasm throughout the detangling process and “be passionate about Christmas,” the job posting states. Because taking apart a ball of tangled, tiny lights for 36 hours a week is so much fun.

For those of us across the pond with our own dust-covered pile of tangled Christmas lights, we’ll just have to make due with doing it the old-fashioned way – unless Canadian Tire has something in the works?
