Dog whines while watching sad ‘Lion King’ scene

A heart-wrenching moment in the Lion King proved too much emotion to handle for a little dog who sits engrossed, staring at the television in this viral video.

The pug and chihuahua mix loves watching television, according to the video description. But the dog might be less interested in Disney films from now on, judging by the emotional turmoil she appears to struggle through during the scene in which Mufasa dies.

The dog begins to whine, eyes locked on the television screen throughout the video. Her big, black eyes make it look like she's touched deeply by the scene.

Of course, there is also sad music and an animated lion whining on screen.

But this pup joins a long list of other YouTube dogs who love their television. For example, this English bulldog that loves to watch Family Guy while sitting on the couch like a human. She likes the dog character, Brian, according to her owner.

Daisy the dog likes to watch animals on television too. She likes it very, very much. Although maybe not as much as Smitty loves Marmaduke.

There's no question, DogTV channel, launched last year, has tapped into a strong market for tube-addicted pups.

Rumour has it that cats have also been known to watch DogTV, according to the BBC, before promptly returning to their dog-hating ways if their owners catch them enjoying canine entertainment.
