John Dunsworth, who played Mr. Lahey, doesn’t make list of Walk of Fame inductees

After a short campaign and awkward YouTube videos by a passionate fan, the Trailer Park Boys star didn't make the list

The Canadian Walk of Fame includes greats such as Burton Cummings, Russell Peters, Robert Munch, James Cameron, Alex Trebek, Mike Myers, Alexander Graham Bell and Bobby Orr.

A campaign was started in March to get John Dunsworth a star. Dunsworth played Mr. Lahey, the frequently drunk trailer park supervisor, on the Canadian comedy mockumentary Trailer Park Boys. The show is about petty crooks and others living at Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

"I'd like to say how wonderfully thrilled I am and tickled pink to be nominated to have my little footprints on the Walk of Fame," Dunsworth said in an online video. The interviewer then had to tell him he hasn't actually been nominated, but people were just lobbying to nominate him.

In the middle of March, a Facebook page was created to accomplish their goal and after the idea was floated about creating a viral YouTube video, David Dunn stepped up to the plate.

Dunn made a series of funny, but somewhat awkward YouTube videos to convince people to nominate Dunsworth. In the first video he gives step-by-step instructions on how to vote. In the second Dunn does a Columbo impression and in the third he impersonates many of the show's characters.

While the group was hoping the videos would go viral, none of the videos have more than 500 views.

Voting ended April 29 and on Tuesday the inductees were announced. Dunsworth's name wasn't on the list. The inductees did include Randy Bachman, Phil Hartman, Russ Jackson, Sarah McLachlan, Sonia Rodriguez and Team Canada 1972.

The Inductee Ball will be Sept. 22.
