MP Tony Clement goes to Coachella, chronicles the weekend on Instagram
Ever wonder what Parliamentarians get up to when the House of Commons is in recess?
Here’s an example: Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, went to Coachella — and he documented the adventure on Instagram.

The treasury board president and Parry Sound-Muskoka MP — and “avid selfie taker,” according to the Ottawa Citizen — spent last weekend in the sun at the popular music festival in Indio, California, taking plenty of photos for those of us who couldn’t make the trip.

He proved his hipness with his grasp on youthful vernacular — “Sup?” he wrote alongside his first photo at the festival — and his pop-culture references in his hashtags.

He proved that he’s old-school with his love of AC/DC — and even taught a festival goer or two about the greats.
“Vance Joy was covering ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and I had to explain to 20 year olds who Springsteen is…” he wrote.

And his response to the Madonna-Drake kiss? Pretty much what we were all thinking:
“She sucked the life right out of him and now he’s a vampire. The end.”

The photo-posting must have been good for his ego. It’s not every day a politician gets comments on Instagram like the following:
“You are the coolest politician in Canadian history!” wrote one Instagram user.
“Never a boring photo from Minister Clement! ]]>😊
