New plant reacts when touched and tickled

The hottest toy this holiday season according to the U.K. Toy Retailers Association may be a pooping dog, but if you are looking for a cleaner option, try a plant.

Not an ordinary plant though, buy a TickleMe Plant.

Children plant the seeds, water it and watch it grow inside a mini greenhouse. Once the plant has leaves, kids can touch or tickle it and the leaves will close or fold.

And in case you were wondering how to take care of a plant, it comes with a little jingle.

See how much fun these kids are having playing with their plants.

According to television station KXII, "It was developed by teachers who found that kids who grew these sensitive plants actually became more sensitive to all living things."

The brothers who started the company hope to expose as many children as possible to the joy and importance of plants, reads the TickleMe Plant Facebook page. "We want every child (and those young at heart) to have a positive experience growing plants."

The company is donating one per cent of all profits to the Nature Conservancy's program, 'Adopt an Acre', to save the rainforest.
