Police to drug users: Stop calling Steve the dealer; we have his phone

If you’re a resident of Alliance, Ohio, looking to get high, it’s probably best not to call Steve for a hookup.

That’s the message the local police department would like to get across to the city’s potential crystal meth users, reports Mashable.

The City of Alliance Police Department recently arrested alleged drug dealer Steve Notman, confiscating his phone in the process. On Tuesday, they posted a request on their Facebook page asking that local drug users stop calling Steve. Not only were the calls interfering with the investigation, it appears they were also just irritating to the boys in blue.

In the post, the police explain that Notman has been arrested for allegedly selling crystal meth on camera.

“We have his phone and are trying to read all your texts requesting drugs and going through all of his contacts (with his permission) but you keep calling and texting and it’s really annoying.”

That does sound pretty annoying. The police were also eager to clarify the obvious: “He is all out of drugs for tonight.”

The post, with its contrasting serious subject matter and jokey theme, was an immediate hit on social media. It’s been both liked and shared some 20,000 times.
